In order to support the exceptional level of growth here at Edam Group, we have now opened a new vehicle depot in Falkirk to strengthen our national network coverage.

The new Falkirk premises will reduce response times in coverage across Scotland, allowing us to deliver credit hire vehicles in as little as 30 minutes – not only making for a more efficient service but also a greater scope for increased service in Scotland to existing and potential customers.

Strategically placed between Glasgow and Edinburgh, the depot provides our team with quicker access to customers in the two largest cities in Scotland and the surrounding areas. Excellent motorway connections – served by the M8, M9 and M80 – ensure that there are strong links to both the northern and southern areas of the country.

The premises have created a range of new jobs in the area and has seen us recruit a depot manager, depot assistants and a team of drivers, overseen by our senior management based in Sharston. Maintaining the close links with the Manchester base, Group Sales Director, Nigel Evans, was on-site to officially open the new facility in Falkirk, together with Brian Campbell, Depot Manager.

Chief Revenue Officer at Edam Group, Marc Lafferty, said: “We understand the stress that drivers go through when sourcing a replacement vehicle in an accident scenario, so to be able to swiftly source a temporary vehicle is key. These new premises therefore represent a valuable extension to our network and will ensure that we can help our customers get back on the road as quickly as possible. The new facility addresses growing demand for our services across the United Kingdom.”

With our continuing growth, we are expanding our fleet size and this move into Scotland represents improved service for Scottish customers. This has seen our fleet rise from 1,400 to 2,000+ vehicles in one year, increasing the vehicle allocation both in Manchester and Falkirk.
